Important: hip development specialists from national and international organizations recommend that the best position is with the baby facing the caregiver. Use with the baby facing outward is recommended from 1 year of age, for short periods. There is disagreement among specialists about this format, some don't recommend it at any age.
There are 2 ways to use the NOMAS Baby Carrier:
POSITION: baby facing the caregiver - suitable from 3 months of age and a minimum of 5 kg
1. Place the belt below your belly button, with the buckle facing forward, and wrap the safety elastic around the closed buckle;

2. Adjust it and tuck the excess strap into the elastic by folding it;
3. Turn the belt buckle to your back;
4. Adjust the panel's backrest so the baby's little legs are in an M position, keeping in mind that for smaller babies the panel needs to be narrower. You can adjust this again once the baby is already in the carrier;

5. Hold the baby against you, facing you, and pull one of the carrier's straps, crossing it over your back in an X. Another way is to do it as shown in the image below: close one side of the strap crossing over your back;

6. Place the baby and close the buckle of the second strap, also crossing over your back;

7. Always remember to wrap the safety elastics around the buckles;

8. Adjust the straps without leaving them too tight. The baby needs to be able to move their head and should never have their head pressed straight against your body.
NOTES:
POSITION: baby on the caregiver's back - suitable after 1 year of age

1. Close the strap buckles without crossing them, leaving them like a regular backpack, and adjust the straps. For this use, the straps are much more snug than when crossed over the back. Roll up the excess strap in the elastic and place the safety elastics around the buckles;
2. Place the belt below your belly button, with the buckle facing forward, close it and wrap the safety elastic around it;
3. Adjust it, tuck the excess strap into the elastic;
4. Turn the buckle to one side of your body;
5. Hold the baby against you on the side where the carrier's backrest is, positioning the baby's legs into the carrier;
6. Fit the backrest against the baby's back and hold both straps up with the hand closest to the baby, then slowly rotate the belt with your other hand, without letting go of either strap, until it reaches your back where you'll be able to place one strap on your shoulder;

7. Put the other carrier strap on yourself;
8. Adjust the straps without leaving them too tight. The baby needs to be able to move their head and should never have their head pressed straight against your body.
